Nick Hernandez is a dynamic force in the world of Pickleball, with a diverse background that includes four years of Division 2 collegiate tennis and a doctorate in pharmacy. Transitioning to Pickleball in 2019, Nick quickly ascended to a 5.0 level of play, showcasing remarkable talent and determination.

 

Originally discovering pickleball in Plantation, Florida, Nick made an immediate impact in the Pickleball scene, clinching gold in their debut 4.0 tournament despite an initial setback. Since then, he has participated in numerous prestigious tournaments across the country, leaving an indelible mark on events such as Pictona (Daytona Beach), Michigan State Games, Beer City Open, and the Chicago Open.

Notably, Nick achieved remarkable success at the Royal Oak tournament, partnering with renowned figures such as Kris Draper and Cheryl Cartmel to secure gold in multiple categories.

 

In addition to his prowess on the court, Nick is deeply involved in coaching and community building. He has lent his expertise to various initiatives, ranging from informal guidance with Pickleplay and Johnny Pickleball to structured coaching at esteemed venues like the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club and UWM Sports Complex. Notably, he has spearheaded significant growth at the UWM Sports Complex, growing a community of over 580 members.

 

Now, Nick Hernandez is set to take on a new challenge as the head coach at Bash Pickleball Club. Beyond coaching, Nick is committed to elevating the Pickleball scene in Michigan and beyond. As a sponsored athlete for Phantom Pickleball and an ambassador for Pickleplay, he is dedicated to expanding the sport's presence and fostering a culture of inclusivity and growth.

Driven by a deep passion for the game and a desire to share his knowledge with others, Nick Hernandez continues to inspire and empower players of all ages and skill levels.
